Apple has raised the price of its Apple TV streaming service in the United States, effective August 28, 2026, pushing the monthly cost to $14.99 and the annual plan to $119 per year.
The monthly subscription climbs from $12.99, a roughly 15 percent increase, while the annual option rises from $99. New subscribers face the higher prices immediately.
Existing subscribers will receive an email notification about a month before their next renewal date, giving them time to decide whether to continue.
Apple One Individual also affected
Because Apple TV is part of the Apple One Individual bundle, the plan is also going up, from $19.95 to $21.95 per month.
Apple One Family and Apple One Premier are not changing today, though both of those plans were already raised in July alongside an Apple Music price increase.
The Individual tier had been spared at that point, making today’s adjustment the final step in completing the cycle across Apple’s subscription lineup.
Apple confirmed the changes to several outlets, noting that Brazil, Chile, and Mexico are also seeing price increases today. No other countries are affected.
A service that has tripled in price since 2019
Apple TV launched in November 2019 at $4.99 per month, positioned as a low-cost alternative to Netflix and other established streaming platforms. That positioning has eroded steadily.
The price moved to $6.99 in 2022, then to $9.99 in 2023, to $12.99 in 2025, and now to $14.99. The monthly rate has nearly tripled over seven years.
At $14.99 per month, Apple TV now sits closer to the ad-free tiers of Netflix and Disney Plus than to the budget end of the streaming market where it once competed.
The annual plan at $119 works out to about $9.92 per month for subscribers willing to pay upfront, which remains the better value if Apple TV is a service someone intends to keep year-round.
What existing subscribers should expect
Apple says notification emails will go out over the coming days and weeks. Subscribers who have not yet received one should check the address associated with their Apple ID before their next billing date.
Those on annual plans renewed earlier in 2026 will not see the new $119 rate until their current term expires.
Apple has not announced any new content or features alongside the price change. The service’s current slate includes Ted Lasso, which returned for a fourth season earlier this month after a three-year absence.
