Apple is expanding its smart home ambitions beyond speakers and streaming devices with the Apple Home Collection, a new lineup of security cameras, smart locks, and thermostats developed in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.
The collection includes everything from a $199.95 indoor security camera to a $399.95 floodlight camera, with all devices designed to work through Apple’s Home app and its new HomeView smart home hub.
Apple Home Collection includes four security cameras
LG is producing four cameras for the lineup, covering indoor monitoring, outdoor security, and front-door access.
The LG Video Doorbell is $249.95, and the indoor camera starts at $199.95. The outdoor and floodlight models cost $299.95 and $399.95, respectively.
One interesting feature is the indoor camera’s automatic privacy positioning. When someone is home, the camera can tilt its lens upward, then return to its normal position when everyone leaves. Users can control the feature through geofencing or manually in the Home app.
The outdoor and floodlight cameras support low-light color night vision, while the floodlight model includes two lights that activate when motion is detected.
Camera footage integrates with iCloud+, letting users view live feeds and recorded activity on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV 4K, or HomeView.
Smart lock and thermostats expand the lineup
Apple is also introducing the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock for $349.95, featuring Ultra Wideband technology that can automatically unlock the door as an authorized homeowner approaches.
The lock also supports PIN entry and a concealed physical key for backup access. Built-in sensors can detect whether the door is open, closed, or has been tampered with.
When paired with LG’s video doorbell, users can see who’s at the front door and unlock it from the same interface.
For temperature control, Apple offers two $199.95 smart thermostats: one from LG and one from Schneider Electric.
Both support Adaptive Temperature, which adjusts heating and cooling based on household patterns and conditions. Compatible US utility plans can also enable scheduling around lower-cost, off-peak electricity periods.
Separate temperature and humidity sensors cost $39.95 each, allowing the thermostats to monitor conditions in different rooms.
The Apple Home Collection goes on sale in December, although Apple hasn’t confirmed which accessories will be available at launch. Some products won’t arrive until early 2027.
