Apple updated its Sports app this week with seven additional soccer leagues, bringing the total number of newly added competitions to 14 over the past month as the app continues its rapid international expansion.
Version 4.3, rolling out now on the App Store, adds coverage of the Austrian Bundesliga, English Women’s Super League, Greek Super League, Indian Super League, Saudi Pro League, Spanish Liga F, and Turkish Süper Lig.
iPhone users following any of those competitions can now track scores, schedules, and standings directly inside the app.
A Month of Rapid Expansion
The additions follow a batch of seven leagues that Apple added in July, one day after the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
That update brought in the Belgian Pro League, Danish Superliga, Dutch Eredivisie, and Japanese J1 League, among others, and also introduced the ability to view team formations across most supported soccer leagues.
The back-to-back expansions reflect a deliberate push to broaden the app’s appeal beyond its original North American and major European focus.
Apple Sports launched as a free, iPhone-only app and has remained exclusive to that platform despite user requests for an iPad version.
The app is ad-free and designed for fast access to live scores, with a minimal interface that loads game data quickly and doesn’t require users to wade through news or editorial content.
What’s Still Missing
Not everyone following this update is satisfied. Some users have been vocal about the absence of the USL, the second tier of American professional soccer, as well as rugby and Australian rules football.
Others have asked for a notification delay toggle, which would let users delay score alerts to avoid spoilers when watching matches on delay. Apple has not addressed either request publicly.
The app continues to expand its global soccer footprint at a pace suggesting further league additions are planned, though Apple has given no indication of a specific roadmap or timeline for additional sports.
