Apple has quietly expanded iCloud+ with four meaningful upgrades over the past several weeks, none of which came with a price increase for existing subscribers.
The most immediately noticeable change for households with security cameras is a HomeKit Secure Video overhaul tied to iOS 27.
Cameras connected through the Home app now support 4K resolution, and Apple has added AI-generated video descriptions, clip searching, and automatic flagging of noteworthy moments. The timing coincides with new Apple Home hardware that launched this week.
Custom email domains get more flexible
iCloud+ subscribers who use custom email domains through Apple’s service were previously limited to three personalized addresses per domain.
Apple has raised that ceiling to 10, which makes the feature more practical for small businesses or families managing shared domains.
The change rolled out earlier this month with no announcement beyond a quiet update to the feature itself.
Apple TV and Arcade bundled in over 100 countries
Subscribers outside the United States received a more substantial addition: Apple TV and Apple Arcade are now included with iCloud+ at no extra cost in more than 100 countries.
The bundle does not extend to US subscribers, but for those in supported territories, it effectively transforms iCloud+ from a storage and privacy service into something closer to Apple One at a lower price point.
Apple has not explained why the US was excluded, and there is no indication the expansion will reach American subscribers anytime soon.
Higher AI limits tied to select plans
When Apple introduced iOS 27 in September, it said certain iCloud+ tiers would receive elevated usage limits for AI features, including Siri AI, Photos editing tools, and Image Playground.
The specifics of which plans qualify and where the limits actually sit remain unclear, and Apple has not yet visibly enforced any usage caps on non-subscribers. That could change as iOS 27 adoption grows and demand on Apple’s servers increases.
Beyond these additions, iCloud+ continues to include Hide My Email, iCloud Private Relay, and full access to Apple Invites.
Apple One subscribers receive the same benefits. The base iCloud+ tier starts at $0.99 per month for 50GB of storage, with higher-capacity plans at $2.99 and $9.99 monthly.
