Your iPhone Was Supposed to Start Fixing Compromised Passwords for You With iOS 27, but Apple Didn’t Ship the Feature

iOS 27 is now available, but two Apple Intelligence features that appeared during the beta cycle didn’t make it into the final release.

Apple says automatic compromised password fixes and contextual suggestions in Messages are coming in a later update, and the delay also affects iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate.

The first feature is designed to take Apple’s existing compromised password warnings a step further. Instead of simply telling you that a password needs to be changed, Apple Intelligence can handle the process for you.

Using Safari and the Passwords app, the system can navigate to the affected website, generate a new password, and update the saved credential in the background without requiring you to do it manually.

Messages is also missing an AI feature

Apple’s other delayed feature is designed to recognize when someone asks you to do something in Messages and surface a relevant action.

If someone asks you to send a photo, for example, Apple Intelligence could offer a shortcut to the right image. Similar suggestions could appear when a conversation involves scheduling something or acting on information mentioned in the chat.

Apple showed the capability in its iOS 27 preview earlier this year, and it appeared during the beta cycle, but it isn’t part of the version users can download today.

The wait may not be long

Apple hasn’t said exactly when either feature will return, only that both are coming in a future software update.

iOS 27.1 is already looming, however. The new iPhone Duo ships October 23 with iOS 27.1 installed, meaning Apple will have that update out by then.

That makes iOS 27.1 a possible landing spot for one or both missing features, although Apple hasn’t confirmed they’ll be included.

For now, anyone installing iOS 27 gets the rest of Apple’s new features, but these two Apple Intelligence additions will require another update.
