Apple Sports is expanding again, adding four soccer leagues and a new way to follow tennis tournaments without leaving the app.
The latest update adds the Australian A-League Men, Egyptian Premier League, Israeli Premier League and South African Premiership, extending the app’s soccer coverage into several new markets.
Tennis fans are getting a more visual upgrade. Apple Sports can now display tournament draws in real time, with brackets showing how players are progressing through each round.
Tennis tournaments now have brackets
The new bracket view is available for Grand Slams as well as ATP and WTA 1000 tournaments.
Instead of checking individual matches to piece together how a tournament is unfolding, you can see the draw, upcoming matchups, and results from previous rounds in one place.
That’s particularly useful during Grand Slams, when dozens of matches are played across multiple rounds and following a player’s possible path through the tournament can otherwise require jumping between individual scores.
Apple added tennis scores to Sports earlier, but the bracket view makes the app far more useful for following an entire tournament than for checking the result of a particular match.
Soccer coverage reaches four more leagues
The A-League Men adds Australia’s top men’s competition, while the Egyptian Premier League and South African Premiership expand Apple Sports’ coverage in Africa. The Israeli Premier League adds another Middle Eastern competition.
They join an already long list of soccer leagues available in the app, including major competitions from Europe and the Americas.
Apple Sports has expanded considerably since its 2024 debut. What started as a relatively simple scores app now covers the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and numerous soccer competitions, along with tennis, golf, and other sports.
The app remains free on the App Store. Apple still doesn’t offer a dedicated Apple Sports app for the Apple Watch.
