Thousands of MotionVFX effects, transitions, and templates are coming directly to Final Cut Pro, eliminating the need for separate purchases of many tools that video editors previously paid extra to use.

Apple announced the integration October 27 as part of a broader Creator Studio update arriving in November. The release also introduces AI assistants across its productivity and creative apps.

MotionVFX becomes part of Final Cut Pro

Previously an independent third-party plug-in provider, MotionVFX brings motion graphics, rotoscoping, tracking, color grading, and thousands of effects and templates into Final Cut Pro as standard features.

For editors who regularly purchase plug-ins or maintain additional subscriptions, the integration could mean substantial savings.

Apple is also expanding its Content Hub with video assets accessible directly within Final Cut Pro.

AI assistants arrive in Keynote, Pages, and Numbers

Apple’s productivity apps are gaining AI assistants that understand the contents of individual documents, allowing users to make requests based on information already in their files.

All three apps will also support Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling compatible external AI agents to read, edit, and automate tasks. MCP support requires macOS 27 and is exclusive to Mac.

The assistants launch in beta with U.S. English support on Apple Intelligence-compatible devices running iOS 27, iPadOS 27, or macOS 27.

Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro get smarter tools

Logic Pro gains an AI assistant in beta, a redesigned Sound Browser, and an improved Stem Splitter that can isolate individual drum components from finished recordings without the original separate tracks.

Its AI assistant requires an Apple Intelligence-capable Mac running macOS 27.

Pixelmator Pro’s Generate Fill will also accept natural language instructions, allowing users to select an image area and describe the changes they want.

Pricing and availability

The updates arrive in November at no additional cost to eligible users.

Creator Studio remains $12.99 per month or $129 annually. Standalone purchases also continue, with Final Cut Pro at $299.99, Logic Pro at $199.99, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, and Compressor at $49.99 each, and MainStage at $29.99.

Existing standalone app owners will receive the November updates without needing a Creator Studio subscription.
