How to Find Saved App Passwords on iPhone

This is a step-by-step guide on how to find saved app passwords on iPhone.

You use a lot of apps, and most of them require an account in order to use them. To make your accounts safer, you should never use the same passwords for multiple websites.

But this creates a problem, you’ll end up with a ton of passwords that you could possibly remember. That’s why password managers like LastPass exist.

But did you know starting with iOS 11, your iPhone can save your passwords for you? Here’s how to check the password that iOS has saved on your iPhone.

How to Find Passwords on iPhone

Step 1. Head to your iPhone Settings app, then open the “Passwords & Accounts” section.

Step 2. Next, select “Website & App Passwords.” You’ll be asked to authenticate yourself before you can see the passwords. Enter your passcode or use Touch ID or Face ID to log in.

Step 3. Once you logged in, you’ll see a list of your saved passwords. From there, you can tap on an account to view the username and password associated with it.

Step 4. You’ll have different options. You can either delete a saved password if you no longer need it. Just swipe to the left and tap “Delete.”

You can also tap on the “Edit” button at the top right corner of the screen, then select the password you want to delete and tap “Delete” at the top left corner of the screen.

Step 5. If you want to edit a password, select it and then tap “Edit” in the top right corner of the screen. When you finish, tap “Done” to save your changes. 

Step 6. You’ll have the chance to change the password directly from the website. Just tap on “Change Password on Website” to open the appropriate website where you can edit your password.

  1. I don’t have a “passwords & accounts” in settings, I have a “passwords” section and it looks entirely different than what you show here.

    • Hey Michael, on newer iOS version, the “Password & Accounts” option has been renamed to “Passwords”, but the steps remain the same. Let me know if you need further help.
