It’s a tradition that Apple holds a conference every year to introduce the latest version of its iOS operating system and products.
iOS 11 was one of the big things Apple unveiled at its WWDC 2017 keynote. It is due to arrive later this year.
Big news for Apple fans: this iOS version has many new features. Let’s take a look at the five best new features of iOS 11.
1. File Management
If there is one thing that has been a pain in the neck for iPhone users, it is file management. Apple has finally removed the pain with iOS 11.

There won’t be an iCloud Drive App in iOS 11 because a more complete Files App has replaced it.
The File Management app will look and act like the macOS Finder. You’ll find pretty much all your content within this App, as well as other cloud storage services like Dropbox, Box, and iCloud Drive.
2. App Store Redesign
The App Store was totally redesigned, which changed its look, but not too much, since it looks similar to the Apple Music App.
It will have three new sections (Today tab, Games tab, Apps tab) in addition to the two standard tabs (Updates, Search) that we’re familiar with.
The Today Tab, the default upfront, is updated daily; you’ll find guides, tips, flashcards, and interviews with developers.
Games now have a dedicated section, the Games tab, where you’ll find the latest and most popular games.
It seems like they’re giving games special attention in the App Store. In the Apps tab, you’ll find different categories and suggested sections to browse for apps.
3. Siri Improvements
Apple is putting all they got into its voice assistant with every update. Now, Siri is improved and faster. Siri sounds more human, and translation is now supported.
With the on-device learning capabilities, Siri can better understand your preferences and predict what you might need next.
Privacy has always been one of Apple’s core values, and Siri is no exception.
iOS 11 will ensure that what you discuss with Siri and what Siri has learned from you stays private, regardless of whether it syncs across all iOS devices, thanks to end-to-end encryption.
4. Control Center New Design
The Control Center got a major update with an entirely new look. Now, it’s full screen and one screen with multiple toggles, and it’s fully customizable. Yes, that’s right! You can customize it. Welcome, Apple, to the world of customization.

You can easily add, subtract, and rearrange toggles based on what is relevant to your needs.
You’ll also be able to video-record your screen in the Control Center without needing third-party apps.
5. Apple Pay Improvements
Apple Pay will be integrated right into the iMessage App, with the capability of Apple Pay Cash and person-to-person payment. This means you’ll be able to send and receive money right via the iMessage App.
You won’t need to use a third-party app anymore. Unfortunately, once it launches, it will only be available in the US.
There are certainly many other new features in iOS 11, like QR code scanning, safer driving mode, improved screenshots, a comprehensive keyboard, a lock screen, and Maps.
Remember that this update will only run on iPhones with an i7 chip or better, which means from iPhone 5S to the latest iPhone model.
