Apple pushed the second developer beta of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 on Monday, two weeks after the initial release that followed the WWDC 2026 keynote.
It introduced a range of new features, design refinements, and bug fixes following the first beta released earlier this month.
Developers with registered devices can pull the update directly from Settings > General > Software Update.
One of the most noticeable changes is improved Siri performance. Siri requests appear to process faster throughout the system, and Apple has updated portions of the Siri settings interface with a new “Siri AI Beta” label and reorganized controls.
The update also includes several improvements for the Messages app. Users can now reply directly to RCS messages in conversations with Android users, while message reactions are displayed more accurately across platforms.
Apple has also added quicker access to Siri-powered writing tools from the keyboard, making it easier to rewrite, summarize, or modify text without selecting it first.
Visual Intelligence is gaining a new option that automatically launches image search after highlighting an object in a screenshot, streamlining reverse image searches.
Apple is also testing a new Wallet feature called Insights, which is designed to show spending trends, recurring subscriptions, account balances, and other financial information from connected accounts.
Other changes in iOS 27 beta 2 include:
- Apple TV software updates can now be installed directly from the Home app.
- RAW photos now support Apple’s AI-powered editing tools.
- Photos includes a new “Move To” option for Shared Library management.
- Safari’s Notify Me feature has received a redesigned interface.
- Siri conversations can now be selected and deleted in bulk.
- Multiple bugs affecting screenshots, wallpapers, and image editing have been fixed.
Apple is expected to release additional developer betas over the coming weeks before launching a public beta later this summer.
