Apple has increased its trade-in values across the Mac and iPad lineups, giving customers more credit toward a new device just as the company prepares to introduce its latest products.

The updated estimates arrived Monday alongside the announcement of the redesigned OLED iPad mini. While iPad values rose only slightly, several Macs are now worth considerably more than before.

Mac trade-in values see the biggest increases

The Mac Pro received the largest adjustment, gaining $365 in maximum trade-in value. The Mac Studio follows with a $240 increase, while the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air are now worth up to $120 and $90 more, respectively.

Here’s how the updated maximum values compare:

MacPreviousNew maximumIncrease
Mac Pro$2,195$2,560+$365
Mac Studio$1,460$1,700+$240
MacBook Pro$1,315$1,435+$120
MacBook Air$705$795+$90
iMac$385$440+$55
Mac mini$620$645+$25
iMac Pro$340$340No change

These increases continue a trend that has been developing throughout 2026.

Since May, the maximum MacBook Pro trade-in value has climbed from $690 to $1,435, while the MacBook Air has risen from $520 to $795.

That’s an unusual direction for Apple’s trade-in program, where values typically decline as devices get older.

Every iPad gets a small trade-in boost

The increases are more modest for iPads, ranging from $10 to $20 depending on the model.

iPadPreviousNew maximumIncrease
iPad Pro$905$915+$10
iPad Air$510$525+$15
iPad mini$320$340+$20
iPad$280$300+$20

The timing could benefit customers considering the new OLED iPad mini, which starts at $699 and becomes available November 6.

Meanwhile, Apple hasn’t changed trade-in values for iPhones or Apple Watches. Both categories retain the estimates introduced in September.

The advertised values aren’t guaranteed

One important detail is that Apple’s figures represent maximum trade-in estimates, not the amount every customer will receive.

The actual offer depends on the device’s age, configuration, and physical condition. Older models or devices showing noticeable wear may qualify for considerably less.

Customers can apply the credit toward a new Apple product or receive an Apple Gift Card instead.

With new OLED MacBook Pro models expected to be announced this week, the higher Mac trade-in values could be particularly useful for buyers planning an upgrade.
