Apple Intelligence is coming to Apple TV, bringing a smarter Siri that can help you find something to watch, answer questions about shows, and search your personal messages for recommendations you’ve forgotten.
The new Siri AI features were announced alongside Apple’s fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, but you won’t need to buy the new $299 streaming box to use them.
Apple says the update will also support the second-generation Apple TV 4K and newer models.
Siri can help you find movies and shows
One of the biggest improvements is conversational entertainment search. Instead of remembering the exact name of a movie or series, you can describe what you’re looking for or ask Siri for recommendations.

For example, asking which Apple TV shows won Emmy Awards this year brings up a full-screen interface with artwork and suggestions for other award-winning series.
Siri can also answer questions while you’re watching something without interrupting playback.
Ask where a scene was filmed or whether a show is suitable for children, and the answer appears in a small overlay while the video continues playing.
Personal context makes the assistant more useful, although it requires a paired iPhone or iPad with Apple Intelligence enabled.
If a friend recommended a series in Messages and you’ve forgotten its name, you could ask Siri to play the show they mentioned. The assistant can use information from your paired device to identify what you’re looking for.
Apple TV gets smarter security camera features
Apple Intelligence also brings new capabilities to HomeKit Secure Video. Instead of reviewing camera recordings individually, you can now get AI-generated descriptions of recorded activity.
The Home app can also display summarized notifications, making it easier to understand what happened outside your front door or around your property.
Siri can continue controlling compatible smart home accessories, including activating scenes and adjusting connected devices through voice commands.
Siri AI is now available in the tvOS 27.2 developer beta for second-generation Apple TV 4K and newer models, with a public release to follow. The new fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is available for preorder at $299 and ships November 13.
