Apple’s complete iPhone 18 lineup is now visible inside iOS 27 beta 5, with internal code revealing six unreleased devices, including the company’s long-rumored foldable phone, expected to be called the iPhone Ultra.
The references appear in system files tied to battery drivers and a feature Apple calls Battery Intelligence.
Listed alongside existing iPhone models, the code explicitly names six devices by internal codename: V62 for iPhone Air 2, V63 for iPhone 18 Pro, V64 for iPhone 18 Pro Max, V67 for iPhone 18, V68 for iPhone Ultra, and V69 for iPhone 18e.
This appears to be the first time the full iPhone 18 family has surfaced together in iOS beta code, and the codenames line up with what previous leaks and industry reports have described.
Apple needs to prepare iOS for new hardware configurations well before those products ship, which explains why battery-related components are often where early references surface.
Earlier iOS 27 betas had already shown code supporting foldable displays and dual-battery setups, neither of which exists in any current iPhone. Those additions now read as groundwork for the Ultra specifically.
iPhone 18 Gets a Split Launch
What the code also confirms is that Apple is not planning to launch all six models at once. According to current reports, the fall event will center on the premium tier: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra.
The standard iPhone 18 and the budget iPhone 18e are not expected until early 2027. The second-generation iPhone Air, despite appearing in the code, is also unlikely to arrive this fall.
That would represent a meaningful departure from Apple’s usual September cadence, where the full lineup typically lands together.
Splitting the release across two calendar years puts premium buyers first and pushes more price-sensitive options into 2027.

Beta 5 arrived after a weeklong delay from Apple’s usual release rhythm, and with the public launch approaching, only a small number of additional betas are likely before the final version ships.
