Apple is planning to launch three smart home products on October 13, including its long-awaited home hub, according to a new Bloomberg report.
The hub will be joined by a new HomePod mini and fourth-generation Apple TV, giving Apple three new pieces of hardware built around the upgraded Siri arriving with its latest software.
All three products have been in development since at least 2024, with their launches pushed back while Apple finished the Siri AI features needed to power them.
Apple’s home hub finally arrives
The new hub has a roughly 7-inch square display designed for controlling smart home accessories, playing music, making video calls, and accessing other Apple services.
One version places the display on a dome-shaped base with a design reminiscent of the iMac G4. Apple has also developed a version that can be mounted on a wall.
The interface relies heavily on widgets and changes what it displays depending on how close someone is to the device.
Apple has designed it around the new Siri, allowing the assistant to use personal information and on-screen context when responding to requests.
A more expensive model with a larger display attached to a motorized arm is also in development. The arm can rotate to follow someone around a room, but that version isn’t expected on October 13.
HomePod mini and Apple TV are getting new hardware
The new HomePod mini keeps the familiar spherical design while updating the hardware inside for Apple’s new Siri features.
Apple is also changing the color lineup. Recent software assets point to green, pink, light blue, white, and midnight finishes, replacing some of the colors available on the current model.
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K is expected to retain the same basic square design as the model Apple has sold since 2022.
Its internal hardware will get a larger upgrade, including a newer processor capable of supporting Apple’s AI features. Previous findings have also pointed to upgraded wireless connectivity and a revised Siri Remote.
Apple plans to update the full-sized HomePod separately, so it isn’t expected to be part of the October 13 lineup.
The three launches would give Apple its first dedicated smart home display while updating the two products already at the center of its living-room and audio lineup.
