If there’s one thing iPhone users can’t stand, it’s the constant need to recharge their devices.

Whether you’re a casual user or someone glued to their screen, dealing with rapid battery drainage is frustrating, to say the least.

Sure, the age of your iPhone plays a role in battery performance, but if you’re rocking a relatively new model and still find yourself tethered to a charger, it’s time to dig deeper.

We all know that some apps are notorious battery hogs—social media apps and streaming video apps, I’m looking at you—but what might surprise you is that some lesser-known settings could also be silently draining your battery.

We’re talking about the Reduce White Point feature. I stumbled upon this setting while playing around with the Settings app and couldn’t be happier.

So, what is Reduce White Point? Essentially, it’s a display setting that dims the brightest whites on your screen, making the overall display less intense.

This isn’t just a small tweak; lowering the intensity of your screen’s whites can significantly reduce battery consumption and create a more comfortable viewing experience.

If you’ve ever found yourself squinting at your screen late at night or straining during a marathon social media scroll, this setting could be a game-changer.

Reducing the glare and making the text more legible might seem like minor improvements, but they add up, especially when preserving battery life.

To adjust this setting, follow these steps.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap Accessibility
  3. Then, select Display & Text Size
  4. Scroll down to find the “Reduce White Point” option. Toggle it on and use the slider to adjust the brightness to your comfort level.

Since I changed this setting on my iPhone, I’ve noticed that my battery life has nearly doubled compared to what it used to be.

So next time you’re low on juice, try Reduce White Point—it might save you from scrambling for a charger.
