Two long-awaited Apple Intelligence features for the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 could be getting closer to release as Apple begins testing watchOS 27.3.

The first developer beta of watchOS 27.3 is now available alongside tvOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3, just one week after Apple released the previous updates to the public.

Developers can install the new software through the Settings app on supported devices.

Two Apple Intelligence Features Expected for Apple Watch

Apple previously announced two features for the Series 12 and Ultra 4, scheduled to arrive before the end of 2026.

The first, Live Rewind, lets users double-press the Digital Crown to retrieve a transcription of the previous 15 seconds of surrounding audio.

It could be particularly useful when you miss something during a conversation and want to check what was said without asking someone to repeat it.

The second feature, Siri Recap, takes a more passive approach. It automatically summarizes conversations throughout the day, creating brief notes that help users recall important details.

Both features rely on on-device audio processing and are exclusive to Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4.

Although watchOS 27.3 could provide the foundation for their release, Apple hasn’t confirmed whether either feature is active in the first beta.

tvOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3 Also Enter Testing

Apple has also released the first developer betas of tvOS 27.3 and visionOS 27.3, though no significant new features have been identified in either update.

Meanwhile, the iOS 27.3 and iPadOS 27.3 betas introduce several changes, including expanded Apple Intelligence availability in China, new StandBy features, Siri Mode in the iPad Camera app, and iCloud link scanning for harmful content.

These updates continue Apple’s gradual rollout of features across its platforms rather than reserving every major addition for annual software releases.

A public beta of watchOS 27.3 hasn’t been announced. Apple typically expands testing after the initial developer release, but there’s no confirmed date for the final update.
