Apple Intelligence is finally making its way to China, while iPhone Duo owners could soon receive a feature missing from the foldable phone at launch.
Both changes are part of the first developer beta of iOS 27.3, now available alongside iPadOS 27.3, just one week after Apple released iOS 27.2 to the public.
Registered developers can download the updates through Settings > General > Software Update by selecting the developer beta.
Apple Intelligence Expands to China
The biggest development in iOS 27.3 is the introduction of Apple Intelligence in China, where Apple’s AI features have remained unavailable since their initial launch.
Regulatory requirements have complicated the rollout, making China one of the major markets still waiting for access.
The new beta marks an important step toward bringing Apple Intelligence to Chinese users, although Apple hasn’t confirmed when the features will become publicly available in the region.
Another potential addition is expanded RCS messaging support for Telstra customers in Australia, improving messaging between iPhone and Android devices.
iPhone Duo Finally Gets Reachability Support
One of the more practical changes in iOS 27.3 involves the iPhone Duo.
Apple’s foldable iPhone launched without Reachability, the accessibility feature that brings the upper portion of the screen closer to your thumb for easier one-handed use.
Early beta builds now include Reachability support for the Duo, addressing an omission that was particularly noticeable on a device with a large folding display.
Its appearance in testing suggests Apple is preparing to deliver the feature in the public release, provided it remains in the final version.
Other Promised Features Are Still Missing
Several previously announced iOS 27 features remain unavailable.
Among them is Apple’s redesigned Health app, which is expected to introduce personalized health insights powered by Apple Intelligence.
Safari is also still missing an AI-powered feature designed to automatically identify and address weak or compromised passwords. Apple removed the capability before iOS 27.2 shipped and hasn’t explained the delay.
Neither feature has been confirmed for iOS 27.3. The update is still in early testing, with additional developer and public betas expected before a wider release. Apple hasn’t announced a final launch date.
