Apple pushed iOS 26 Beta 6 to developers, just a week after Beta 5, signaling the final stretch before the software’s public debut next month.
The latest build doesn’t add headline-grabbing features, but it packs refinements that make the iPhone feel sharper, faster, and more polished.
The most visible change is a new welcome video that plays after installation, highlighting the Liquid Glass design Apple is rolling out across the system.

The lock screen clock now has increased transparency to better blend with wallpapers, aligning it with the refreshed aesthetic.

Toggles get new animations that match the Liquid Glass look, replacing the static flip with a smooth, glossy motion.

App launches are faster, with transitions trimmed to make the system feel more responsive. Closing apps looks cleaner, too.
Navigation bars in some apps have been adjusted for better text visibility over bright or busy backgrounds.
Apple also redesigned the Preview app, moving its main buttons closer to the bottom of the screen for easier access.
On the audio side, the ringtone library gets an update: six new versions of the Reflection tone plus a completely new sound, Little Bird. It’s the first notable ringtone refresh in years.

With the iPhone 17 event just weeks away, Beta 6 shows Apple’s focus has shifted from adding features to locking in design consistency and responsiveness.
Beta 7 could arrive as soon as next week, but the software is already close to final form. Which iOS 26 Beta 6 change do you think will remain until the final release, and which one do you think Apple will walk back?
