Apple is preparing new controls that could let you choose exactly which Suggested Actions appear in Messages instead of treating the feature as an all-or-nothing setting.
A new settings screen in iOS 27.2 beta 3 includes separate switches for Add to Calendar, Add to Reminders, Add to Notes, Show in Maps, and Flights and Packages, giving users control over which suggestions are allowed to appear in conversations.
Messages could hide suggestions you never use
Suggested Actions looks at the context of a conversation and surfaces shortcuts when it recognizes something you might want to do.
A dinner plan could trigger an option to create a Calendar event, for example, while an address could bring up a Maps shortcut.
The individual switches would let you keep the suggestions you find useful while removing the ones you don’t.
Someone who frequently turns plans into Calendar events could leave that enabled while removing flight, package, or Notes suggestions they rarely touch.
There’s also a Hide Unused Suggestions option that takes some of that cleanup out of your hands. When enabled, a suggestion you haven’t used for 30 days will automatically stop appearing in Messages.
That could make Suggested Actions considerably less intrusive over time. Instead of repeatedly surfacing shortcuts you ignore, Messages would gradually pare the feature down to the actions you actually use.
Suggested Actions has already changed once
Apple first tested Suggested Actions during the original iOS 27 beta cycle before removing the feature ahead of the September release.
It returned during iOS 27.2 testing, now accompanied by more control over how individual suggestions behave.
The settings are still being tested and could change before iOS 27.2 reaches everyone. Apple is expected to release the update later this month.
