Apple released the third developer beta of iOS 27.2 on Monday, two weeks after beta 2, as testing continues on an update that includes a redesigned Health app and expanded language support for Siri AI.
Registered developers can install the latest build by going to Settings > General > Software Update and selecting the iOS 27 developer beta channel. Apple also released iPadOS 27.2 beta 3.
What’s coming in iOS 27.2
One of the biggest changes is a redesigned Health app organized around two new sections, Insight and Longevity, expanding how health information and longer-term trends are presented on the iPhone.
Siri AI is also gaining support for additional languages. Apple previously said the next wave of languages would arrive in October, putting their rollout within the current iOS 27.2 beta cycle.
Apple hasn’t announced a public release date for iOS 27.2, though the timing of beta 3 puts the update on track to arrive later this month if testing continues at its current pace.
Why Apple is already testing iOS 27.2
The unusual part of this beta cycle is that Apple is already testing iOS 27.2 while iOS 27.1 has yet to receive a general public release.
The missing update is tied to the iPhone Duo. Apple’s first foldable iPhone will ship with iOS 27.1 when it reaches stores on October 23, with software designed around its 5.4-inch outer display and 7.6-inch folding screen.
Keeping iOS 27.1 out of the normal developer beta cycle lets Apple hold back some Duo-specific features until the hardware is closer to release.
Developers are already preparing for the new device. Apple opened iPhone Duo app submissions through the App Store earlier this week, giving developers time to submit apps optimized for its two displays before preorders begin October 16.
With beta 3 now available and Apple’s additional Siri languages still promised for October, iOS 27.2 is moving closer to its public release.
