Two weeks after beta 2, Apple dropped macOS Golden Gate 27.2 developer beta 3. Alongside expanded Siri AI language support comes a small but practical redesign you’ll probably use more often: new brightness and volume sliders.
Registered developers can install the latest beta through System Settings > General > Software Update after enabling the macOS Golden Gate developer beta channel.
Siri AI reaches more Mac users
Siri AI is expanding to additional languages as part of Apple’s previously announced October rollout, opening the redesigned assistant to Mac users who have spent the first month of macOS Golden Gate watching from the sidelines.
The staggered rollout has made language support one of the biggest limitations of the new Siri so far. Adding more languages in 27.2 starts closing that gap only weeks after the initial release.
Two everyday Mac controls get better
Brightness and volume controls now use sliders instead of forcing you through fixed levels. You can drag either control to exactly where you want it.
It’s a small change that solves a familiar annoyance. One volume level can be too loud while the next is too quiet, and screen brightness can have the same problem. The sliders give you more precise control over both.
They also bring the Mac closer to how brightness and volume already work on the iPhone and iPad.
macOS Golden Gate 27.2 is expected to reach the public later this month.
