Apple is getting ready to give your iPhone and nearly every other device in its lineup a stunning new coat of paint.
At WWDC 2025, the company plans to unveil a sweeping redesign of iOS 26 and its other major platforms.
From what I’ve seen, this goes far beyond a simple redesign—it marks Apple’s most dramatic visual overhaul since the debut of Face ID on the iPhone X.

Internally, the redesign is codenamed “Solarium,” and according to reports, it draws heavy inspiration from visionOS—the interface used on Apple’s Vision Pro headset.
The company is bringing that same glass-like, layered aesthetic across its entire OS family, creating a more unified and immersive experience.
Think softer translucency, floating toolbars, and interactive elements that seem to breathe on the screen. It’s elegant, modern, and unmistakably Apple.
You’ll notice the change everywhere. From the iPhone and iPad to the Mac, Watch, and even CarPlay, Apple is tying all its platforms together with a cohesive design language.
Toolbars and tab bars will now float, app icons will be subtly refreshed (no, not round, thankfully), and widgets will get a facelift to match the lighter, more open UI.
On the Mac, even the menu bar and window controls are getting a revamp, making everything feel more unified.
The new interface is designed to be intuitive and refined, not jarring. It will focus more on pop-out menus, visual feedback, and small details that help users move faster without thinking twice.
We’ve seen Apple lean into design before, but what’s different this time is how tightly the company is aligning its software across all devices.
If you use an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you’ll feel it: a seamless, almost invisible transition from one device to the next.
